I've been trying to eat breakfast but have yet to accompli****  This morning I had:  ww wheat bread w/ almond butter, egg w/cheese & turkey, cereal, yogurt & protein bar.  Everything I took one bite of and had to spit it out.  I couldn't swallow anything ~ made me gag trying to.  I can drink but a protein shake this early gives me a stomach ache.  I drink a lot of coffee and water (walmart sf water) in the mornings.  My first meal usually comes at lunch and I pack it full of protein.  Any suggestions??

I don't do well with breakfast so I have a Boost Glucose Control instead of eating. It keeps my blood sugar from dropping to low and keeps me from getting hungry before lunch. Give it a try and see if this helps.

Some people use a protein powder in their coffee; maybe this would work for you. I drink an "Achiev One" coffee-based RTD protein drink every morning ~ 20 grams of protein. If you drink a lot of coffee, you may want to consider taking Prilosec or another acid reducer if you are not already doing so.....     Good Luck!

I usually drink an AchievOne too and I'm OUT right now!  Argggg.  I am hoping to get my 2 cases tomorrow.  That 20 grams it packs makes it so much easier to get in my 60+g of protein per day.  Plus, it's yummy and gives me a reason to live.

I drink a protein shake in the AM....do you sip it slowly and it still gives you a tummy ache??? I usually have some sausage and egg a couple of hours after this for my "breakfast".... also, are you sure it's the shake upsetting your tummy and not the coffee?? Hope you get some resolution on this!

I can eat breakfast just fine now but in the beginning I could only take half a protein bullet mixed in Crystal Light (or generic equivalent).  I had to use at least 20 oz of water too or it'd be too sweet.

The only thing that I have found that I can eat in the morning is a south beach diet high protein cereal bar.  140 calories 10 grams of protein and the sugars are like 3 or 4.  They are so good. I tried eating eggs, cheese, etc and it never sat well with me.  I'm not a huge enough yougurt fan to eat it every day.

This may be because you've already got too much stuff in your stomach -- coffee and water.  You might want to postpone your coffee till later in the day.  Breakfast is a really important meal to eat. BTW, I eat it just as I would any other meal -- in my mouth, chewing with my teeth, then I swallow!  Linda

Sorry!  When I read the title to your post, it just struck me as funny this morning.  I hope you find a what to get some fuel into your body earlier in the morning.  It is really necessary to get your furnace burning. Linda

I drink mine.  Carnation Instant Breakfast with 2 cups skim milk and Benefiber.  I can swallow all my morning pills with that.  Then about 2-3 hours later, I have a protien "meal" - turkey or cheese.  I just can't handle eggs anymore - this morning my husband made sausage, biscuits and eggs for himself.    It was the first time I felt a little sad about not being able to eat like the good 'ole days... but I'll get over it!

I don't have time in the morning to be messing with preparing breakfast, or worrying about chewing correctly, so I keep cans of Slim Fast High Protein ready-to-drinks in my frige - I grab one and drink it when I get to work.  On the weekends, I make myself a protein shake (usually Whey Gourmet Arctic Cappicinno) in the blender with skim milk and crushed ice. Usually I have a protein coffee, protein shake or a South Beach bar. Lately, it's the only breakfast that I want. Gives me a good start on protein.
