Oops, didn't do a 2 month update!! on November 3, 2008 5:54 pm
I totally blew off my 2 month update!! I'm now 2 months and 9 days post op...I'm down to 185 lbs!! That is 46 lbs down!! I didn't take my measurements, but I'm in a size 18. Some of my 18's are getting big. I can fit into a couple of 16's. I bought a pair of jeans, size 16, about a week and a half ago, I got home and tried them on! Wow, was I dejected! There was about a 3 inch gap to close them!!! Well, I tried them on yesterday.....I got them buttoned but there was NO WAY in HELL I was going to be able to breath, sit or walk in them!! But it felt great to be able to button them!!!!
I'm getting a lot of comments at work! I got a comment on Fri or Sat....I don't know if it is a good one or a bad one. The woman said to me "wow, you look great. You look so young, not that you looked old before, but you look much younger!" Some one else said to me today, "did you lose weight?" I said yes, some. She goes "yeah, I can see it in your face. And in your arms, and yeah in your face, wow."! Gee, do you think she noticed it in my face! But people at work (customers) have been very supportive and great! If I've never mentioned it before...I really love my job! I love what I do and I love my customers!! There are a few that aren't quite sure why I lost weight and aren't sure how to ask me about it, but that is OK. Most people that ask, I tell them I had surgery. Some are shocked and ask if I had the "Lapband" or "Gastric Bypass", I tell them I had "More"....I had more than the GB. I got the "Cadillac WLS"!!! Some people ask with concern, and inquire how I am...I tell them that I couldn't have ask for it to go any better!!! I feel like a DS poster child!!
I'm on a pizza kick! I've been taking a french bread pizza into work for lunch. My manager asked me today if I eat the whole thing for lunch, I said yeah...most of it! She was like, wow. Her BIL is about 10 months post op RNY, and he has had a lot of problems! Ulcer, foamies, vomiting, not being able to tolerate much food wise! So she sees the bad side to WLS and tries to compare me to him. But on a good note, some one from work emailed me asking me about my surgery! So, I paid it forward!!
In closing, these last 2 months have been amazing!!!! I will definitely update at 3 months! I've been keeping a running total of my weight loss with my ticker, I'll try to keep it updated on my profile!
Thank you everyone for all your support of the past weeks, months, even years!!! I couldn't have done this and be where I am if it weren't for my OH family!!

I got the call today! on October 24, 2008 6:57 pm
I was nominated by a co worker!! I didn't know if I could post this on any of the boards, so I thought I'd send everyone here. I figured they can't really say anything about what I put on my blog! Maybe they can, I don't know!
But, I'm being locked up for MDA! They have asked me to raise money for my Bail! I figure the more I can raise, the more I will feel I've done my part of the program. If you are interested in donating or just checking it out, please click on my web page for MDA. Thank you!

Back to work! on October 21, 2008 6:23 pm
I went back to work a week ago. It didn't go to bad! I wasn't tired, surprisingly!! I was very sore. I went back on Wed, that way it was a short week. I lifted a box of quarters in the morning, then thought maybe I should not have done that. But I felt fine! Later in the day, I picked up a box of quarters & dimes! That did it! I strained something on my right side!! I was soo scared it was my gallbladder. I called my mom, but the pain was nothing like she described it would be! It felt like a side sticker. And it lasted Wed-Sat! It isn't soo bad now, only if I turn just the right way, I might get a bit of pain. Soo for now, I'll do just ONE box of coin!!!
I went over to my moms a couple of days ago. My friend made me take my jeans off!!! She said they looked like crap....because they were too big!!!! So I gave them to my sister! They were a 22! I don't have any jeans that fit right now. My pants for work are 18's. The pants I put on after I took my jeans off, (they are just stretch pants) were a LARGE!!!! I can't ever remember wearing a Large in pants!! Right now my biggest problem is.....I have 3 pairs of pants to wear for work! So the girls will have to deal with it! I'll just keep changing the shirts around. I got lots of those!!
My 2 month anniversary is coming up. I'll take some new pictures and measurement in a few day. And I'll post the pics on my profile once I get them up!! I think I'm doing OK. As of the other day I was done 41 lbs!!! That is 40% EWL!!!! Almost 1/2 way there!!!

Strange WOW today!! on October 10, 2008 6:14 pm
My sneakers were loose on me today. I was soo sick of them just about slipping off while I was walking up the road today. So, I was walking down to the end of the driveway and decided to retie my sneakers (they are mules, so I never I have to tie or untie them)!! I just squatted down and tied my sneaker!!!!! I didn't almost fall over!! I didn't get fat pinched!! I didn't have to hurry to tie it because I couldn't breath!!! AND I did all this wearing a pair of JEANS!!!!! I didn't even realize anything until I went to tie the other shoe, that was when I realized how far down in a squat I was!!!!
UPDATE on Onederland: Each day I weighed myself, I was at 200 again, yesterday I was 199 again! So hopefully, tomorrow I will still be 199!!

Onederland.......sorta!!! on October 6, 2008 11:02 am
Well, I weighed myself this morning after I got up. The scale read 199.?!!!!!! Got JR ready, Tommy took him up to the bus stop. I thought I'd get a picture of the 199.?..I stepped on the scale.....200.0!!! WTF!!!! DUH, I had the camera in my hand!! So I stepped off, put the camera down and tried it again. 199.?, grabbed the camera, aimed it down (too far away), had to zoom in on the weight...snap the picture. The reading flashed off before the picture took, so it is a picture of my feet on a scale with NO WEIGHT READING!!! Again....WTF!! I step off, back on...200.0!! I tried again, zoomed the camera in first..stepped on the scale it read 199.? snapped the picture!! Guess what.............It didn't take again!!!!!! So I gave up! I figured I wasn't suppose to claim it as Onederland!!
I did brag to my hubby! The first time I've been able to get on a scale and it read a weight that started with a 1 in about 13 years! The last time I can remember exactly weighing below 200 is when I was 18. I got that Depo shot when I had just turned 19, I know I started gaining weight then. Because after the 3 month mark, I didn't get my period and I was gaining weight. I thought I was pregnant! False alarm. The weight just went up from there!!!
I'll have to weight (get it) until I get below 199 to actually snap the picture!! Oh well! I'm obsessed with the scale! Not in a bad way. I weigh most every day, sometimes multiple times. But I don't let it rule me. It is what it is!

My Story http://www.myspace.com/jackiejrsmom
See myspace! Add me as your friend, just tell me you met me on OH!!
June 30, 2007
The start of my story. All through High School I considered myself fat. Kids in school called me fat and made fun of me also. My mom was fat most of my life. She is 2 1/2 yrs post-op. She looks great!!! A friend of mine has GBP in 1998! She did great. I never judged her descision. My sister looked in to getting it done about 6 yrs ago. She was declined because she wasn't fat enough! So she lost a lot of weight on her own. She looked great! But then she got pregnant. Gained all the weight back. My mom told her it was a bad idea when she was thinking about it. Funny, she did research on it and found it is a wonderful tool!! About 6 months before mom had hers done I started doing the research for me!! Jan 2006 I met with a surgeon, Dr Koren. Super nice guy! Only to find out that my insurance doesn't have the Rider for the Surgery. That put me in the slumps! And I gave up. I checked into my husbands ins, his would approve if my ins declined me. But I had to follow all the guidelines of my ins, or they wouldn't pick up the tab. So I figured I'd stick with Dr Koren. My mom wanted me to go to her surgeon, Dr Rovito. He didn't except my primary ins, Aetna.
Aetna required 6 month diet history with your PCP. So I started that in Sept. (actually Oct, I missed my Sept appt). Dr Koren sent me for sleep studies for Sleep Apnea. They came back positive and I was fitted for a CPAP. My ins ran out in Dec and Hubby's picked up primary in Jan. His insurance requires 12 months of diet history!!!! So now I am 3 appts away for my 12 months. Another friend of mine just had the surgery done! She is doing pretty good. But not drinking enough!! My mom is a strong support for both of us!! Needless to say, I'm going with my moms surgeon, Dr Rovito!!! I have an appt in Aug. So hopefuly Karen will send me through the Fast Track Program. My friend did ALL her stuff in ONE DAY!!! I'm a little scared that something is going to go wrong and I get declined. I do meet all the requirements! Fat & Sick!!!!! I'll try to keep my story updated. I don't know how well I will do!!
