Surgeon Testimonial

Antonio Coirin, M.D.
My surgeon was very nice but very adiment at letting me know this surgery is only a tool and not a fix and I have to stick to the book if I want it to be succesful for me. His italian accent was very calm and soothing.
His staff is alright but I was irritated with how long they took to finally submit my TAR. It only took me 2 1/2 weeks for approval after they submitted the information but it took forever for the lady to send the information. She kept lying saying she submitted it when she really hadn't. That made me kinda mad. My friend had the sae issue with the same lady along with everybody I know who used this surgeon. The surgeon is wonderful and I only had one issue with one staff member everybody else was awesome.
He has an awesome program starting with the seminar, then consultation, then pre-op class, then pre-op appointment, then post-op appointment, then post-op class and so on and so forth.
He is very experienced and that is the main reason why I chose him and I would definitely refer anybody who was gonna have the surgery to him.
I would rate him at 110%

I'm getting there QUICKER than I expected...
on November 4, 2008 10:12 am

I am a little over 5 months out of surgery now. I've lost 85 pounds so far. I started at 230 lbs. and my bmi was 39.5 the day I weighed in for surgery and I now weight 150 lbs. and my bmi is 25.7 I'm only 15 pounds away from my goal weight 135lbs. and my goal bmi would be 23.2. I never thought I would ever see this weight again. My body still doesn't look exactly the way I want it to but the weight keeps coming off so that's half the battle, I really can't conplain. Clothes fit me so different now. Size 13 pants are huge on me. Even with a belt I can pull them off and on without undoing my belt or pants. I really feel like this surgery has completely change my life for the better. I feel like I'm coming alive again. I think my new boyfriend has a lot to do with it too but I'm just feeling really good. I'm not gonna lie though there are days where I feel sluggish like the big girl I was before but for the most part, I'm feeling really good.

I'm Almost 3 Months Out
on August 13, 2008 12:00 am
I'm almost 3 months out of surgery now and I've lost 55 pounds so far. Everyone around me is really starting to notice which is making me feel better about it. I can't believe how quick I'm starting to lose. I'll plateau and not lose a pound for about a week at a time and then I'll lose another chunk of weight. I'm excited cause I'm almost into the 170s and I only had the surgery less than 3 months ago. Crazy, but very exciting. It's more motivating getting quick results like this. It's been tough but totally worth it. I joined a gym and I try to work out daily sometimes it doesn't work out that smoothely because I am a single mom but I do try. I would reccomend to anybody to get a fitness membership if you can to try to tone your body and keep your muscle mass because the weight loss is so rapid. Anyways I'm loving what the surgery has done for me so far. And I'm extremely motivated into becoming fit and staying fit.

Finally had the surgery and finally losing
on May 29, 2008 12:00 am
Well I had my surgery on the 19th so I'm about a week and a half out. I have lost 19 pounds so far which is exciting although I can't tell yet. My friends and family can tell by looking at me but I can't tell yet. My whole hospital experience couldn't have been better. All of the nursing staff was extremely supportive. And the hospital room was beautiful. I can't wait to be able to squeeze my butt into some of my old pants that are smaller but still like brand new. I can't wait to start my new life being smaller and having a new career. I'm still having some pain but not near as bad as when I woke up from anesthesia...

My Story

I am a 25 year old woman, single mother to a 3-year-old little boy. I have been overweight pretty much my whole life and I've finally decided that gastric bypass is my only answer at this point. I've tried several different weight loss measures and nothing has lasted so this is my chance to lose the weight with this tool and work hard at keeping the weight off. I had my surgery May 19th by Antonio Coirin at Modesto Memorial Hospital. I had the best surgeon and the best hospital. I am losing weight rather quickly, I am very happy with the decision I've made and I can't wait to see the very end result. Any questions feel free to ask me.
