Hi, my name is Christine, but please call me Chris. I'm 36 years old, married to sexy teddy bear named Eddie. We will be celebrating 7 years on December 27, 2006. I thought about having this surgery for 2 years prior to having it. I think that it was fitting (in more ways than one) that my surgery was July 11, 2006. My birthday is July 5th, so my re-birth and birthday are close to one another. Another reason I think it's fitting is because GOD and my parents gave me life and GOD and my parents gave me my re-birth. My insurance (Blue Cross of TN)wouldn't cover this surgery, so out of the blue my parents offered to pay for the surgery. I almost fell over when my parents told me what they wanted to do. I am so thankful for them, not just cause they paid for the surgery, but many other things.

Its been awhile since I posted but things have been going really good. I made it past the century mark!!! Yeah!!!!! In some ways it is so hard to believe. I am doing things now that I would never imagined a year ago. I just started a new job yesterday and the parking lot is 1/2 a mile away from the building. Before this surgery, there is no way that I could have been able to walk that and not even be out of breath. Its uphill for most of the walk to the truck and I was able to do it without anything hurting and not out of breath.
This past weekend was a blast. We drove up to Cincinnati, Ohio to meet up with my family for the weekend. My family drove down from Michigan and we had a ball. I haven't seen my parents since November and they couldn't get over how much I have changed. My mom gave me some clothes that she had bought and wasn't able to wear. Size 20 jeans and XL tshirts. OMG!! Can you believe that they fit? I was floored, especially by the XL shirt. Grant you it was a little tight around my bubble (my belly and butt area). But it really didn't look awful. I will post some more pictures soon as I can get the camera and the computer to play nice.

WhoHoo!!!!! I am so happy this morning. I stepped on the scale at it said 282. I got off and did it again to make sure that I wasn't seeing things. Thats 80 pounds since surgery. Just a couple of weeks a ago I was moaning and groaning cause I wasn't losing. I can't wait until Saturday morning. I live in Georgia and all of my family lives in Michigan. My husband and I decided to surprise them early since they think we are coming up for Thanksgiving, but I was offered a job and it's too good to pass up. So I have to start that on Nov. 11th. I love and miss my family so much, at least we are still really close even though we live over 600 miles apart.

Today has been a much better day. The scale has finally been moving again. I'm so glad, I was getting worried. I know that my body is just taking its time to play catch-up. I will just keep doing what I am supposed to do.
