This has been a rough year with a lot of ups and downs, more downs than ups but I have been able to stay positive and made it through the worst of it. I am newly divorced after 9 years of marrige and dont have any children. I had been going back and forth to have surgery for the last 2 years and the insurance didnt approve me the first three times. After my husband left I decided to try again with my new doctor and a new program and amazingly two months later I had my surgery. I am excited about a new and wonderful life that is waiting ahead for me. I have really started focusing on me and even quit smoking on Sept 5, 2007. I have never been on my own so things have been strange as I am learning how strong I really am. I have a great job, house, two big spoiled dogs, and great family. Would love to make new friends here and learn all about the new lifestyle.

Week 2

Well I made it through another week and not too much to complain about...ha ha.  Well its not easy but the results are great and I have to focus on the positive.  I am on day 14 and it is hard adjusting to not eating and realizing that you will not ever eat the way you used to.  Memories of eating can haunt you but staying active and distracting yourself help.  I am having a hard time getting all the protien and fluid in, but am doing pretty good with it.  I had instant mashpotatoes and was like this is all I get (1/4 cup), again this goes back to the adjusting to your new stomach...wow  I also find it hard to tell if I am full cause the feeling is not the same, really havent gotten sick, but I am sticking to the plan.  I made it through Thanksgiving and time is flying by.  I go back to work next week....I think I am ready.  I am ready to figure out my new routine, I havent been resting enough and doing too much but it is hard for me to sit.......since when....ha ha

It isnt easy but to be honest it has been a lot better than what I had imagined in my mind.  I have not had many problems and the pain and discomfort are really not too bad.  Its day 6 and I am finding the hardest part is the hunger in my head, I feel like I should be eating something and that I want to eat food.  Not at all hungry in my stomach or I guess we call it our pouch now...lol  The all liquids is difficult but I know it wont be forever but I still can visualize the big bacon cheeseburger and know that I will never be able to eat one the way I did before.  But I try to remind myself that who needs that and the memories will fade with time...lol  Plus my new clothes and body will be a great distraction.
