I'm right around 4 and half months out from surgery. I'm down a total of 102 pounds (77 since surgery) and I'm feeling leaps and bounds better than I did just a few months ago. What an amazing tool this surgery is. It hasn't been easy, but so worth it. When i started this journey my BMI was 56.9 and now I'm down to 41.4 - I still have a ways to go, but I'm so happy with my progress. I'm seeing old friends next month (ones I haven't seen in 5 years) and instead of feeling that dreaded feeling of "oh no, i look like such ass" I'm excited to see them. I feel good. Really good.
As of today I'm 11 week out and have lost a total of 77 pounds! I feel much better - have more energy and stamina... I'm working out (at least 15 minutes every day) on my exercise bike and trying to still do hour long lap swims a couple times a week (although i've been sick, so it's been a few weeks since i've been in the pool)...
i've not been good about keeping this thing up to date, but i'll try to at least get down some relevant facts so when i look back i can recall the journey...
Before surgery I lost 24 pounds (3 months between consult and surgery)
Four weeks after surgery I'd lost an addition 21 pounds.
Five weeks I'm down an additional 8 pounds
Total so far: 53 pounds
Started in a size 32, 5 weeks out I'm in a size 28
