David Von Rueden, M.D. First impression was very good. My
mother went to the information seminar with
me and we were both impressed. He seems a bit quiet at first.
The office staff is fantastic. They are
very pleasant and helpful.
Surgury pros and cons were covered at
the information seminar. They truly pull
no punches.
I hope everything
went well. Just
remember to do
everything your
doctor says and you
will be up and about
in no time. Welcome
to the Losers Club.
Carol
Well its been a year today ; unbelievable to me.
one year ago today I was scared to death
laying on the table getting prepped and I said
to my mother " I cann't do this; get me out of
here now" well thankfully my parents didn't listen
to me . I have posted some new pictures along
with some pictures taken today of me wearing
my largest size clothes: don't look if you are
screamish. I took some pictures that will
let you all see why plastic surgury is in my future.
Healthwise Everything is great : No meds
at all other then the vitamins and supplements
that we all know will be part of postop life.
Had no complications whatsoever.
as of today I am 115 down and
about 45 to go till I get to a weight
I can live with; My dream goal is another
75-80 Lbs.
People who knew me before can not get over
the changes in me : not just physically - I
am "glowing" as one person told me LOL
I am an all around happier, healthier woman.
I spent today with an old and dear friend who
this time last year I could not go visit: why
you ask : because she lives in a three level
townhome: today was the first time in the
five years shes lived there that I saw her
upstairs bedrooms. I also learned the hard
way that my pouch is still working . I ate
corn of the cob ( a big ear) - and a bacon
cheeseburger: sure enough about five
minutes after I finished I was running for the
bathroom : fortunatly shes had WLS herself
and understood: anyway no more full ears
of corn on the cob for this girl.
People have asked me if I have any regrets
and I must admit to only one: That I did not
have the courage to do this 10 years ago:
I wasted so much of my life - but thats
in the past and I look to the future these days.
In the near future I am going on the cruise to
lose - I bought two blouses today at Walmart
( drumroll please ) Size 16-18 down from a
tight 32-34. The shorts in the picture I posted
today I bought a month ago - and yes you will
notice they are getting BAGGY.
I will stop my rambling now and thank
you all for reading this: The support
from the board has been fantastic and
I just want to say I love you all from
the bottem of my heart.
To the recent postops and preops who
may read this: take heart- The first
month or so is rough but brighter
days are coming.
God Bless us All ( i know he has blessed
me this past year)
Well I decided to post some pics taken yesterday on my 45th Birthday.
Dinner was an adventure thats for sure: It was so cold that when the waiter said they had Chix Ndl soup I just had to get a cup. I then ordered
an 8 oz. prime rib and baked potato.
The soup went down fine but left me too full to enjoy the rest of my dinner.
I had about a quarter of the potato and a couple bites of meat and
had the dreaded feeling of foamies starting. I made a very dignified
exit from the table; rapidly walked to the ladies room and spent
a few minutes trying not to get sick. I did not get sick but was
unable to eat anymore of the delicious potato and meat: Sigh I guess I
will attempt a little of them both tonight.
But you know what : its OK : I feel better then I have in years and
I guess this just means the surgury is doing what its supposed to do . I just need to think smarter and skip the soup next time
I HAVE A DATE!!!
Yes finally: after 6 months, endless test, oxygen
therapy and pulminary therapy. There is light
at the end of the tunnel. My date is July 5, 2007.[/url]
I called to tell Mom and I told her its my INDEPENDENCE
DAY.
It took me six years to make the decision to have the surgury
(noone can ever say I rushed into it).
My Dr. is David von Rueden and I cannot tell you
how helpful he and his staff have been.
I have a huge support system - my parents and
brothers, sister and their families all behind me 100%,
as well as friends, coworkers and members of my church.
Ok lets see this is seven weeks and counting: can not come soon enough. Will post more later.
