Surgeon Testimonial

Donald Waldrep, M.D.
Dr. Waldrep and his staff are extemely professional and well-organized for the most part. Dr. Waldrep is very relaxed and easy to talk to. He has a bit of a dry sense of humor, which I love, and is also a bit silly as well. But, always professional. His PA, Mike, is also quite personable and easy to talk to. And again, silly and has an easy sense of humor. I think that a sense of humor is essential when in a doctor/patient relationship, as it takes the formalness out of the situation and makes it easier to feel free to talk openly with those providing care to you.
The before and aftercare programs are first rate and ultra important in their practice. Dr. Waldrep's office has a great relationship with Sutter Roseville Hospital and they definately work hand-in-hand to ensure the best possible results for their patients. Dr. Waldrep and his office staff are quite open with regard to discussing risks and requirements of weight loss surgery.
Dr. Waldrep is a fabulous surgeon with an impecable record of successes, and an amazingly low rate of complications. His bedside manner is easy going and comfortable. I don't have a single complaint about the care that he or his staff have provided for me.

Don't mind me...
I'm just rambling...

San Ramon? Maybe...
MM is headed back to Cali! Yippy! She is such a kick in the ass. It would be really cool to have her come to Sac to hang out for a day if she's able...perhaps Friday. Maybe I can tempt her with some homemade sugar-free cheesecake? I'm going to see if she's open...if not, I'll likely head to San Ramon for the one day OH event and have to be satisfied with feeding off of her ample energy only on Saturday. I also need some Click while I'm there.

Update to "f*ck"
Thursday morning I had an appointment to take the TEAS test as a requirement for another nursing program. I passed three of the four tests with flying colors. The fourth, not so much. It was the science test, and it asked some of the most ridiculous questions ever. Why does the earth revolve around the sun? What kind of rock breaks into flat pieces? Then it would ask you to select the proper codon for a specific amino acid? I get the amino acid question...but rocks? What in the hell does that have to do with nursing?? So anyway, I missed passing the test by four percentage points. I did, however, get 100% on the anatomy questions. yay.
The worst part of this entire thing is that not only is it going to cost me another $25 to retake the test, but none of my passing scores count. I need to pass the tests concurrently. I guess I better start studying 7th grade earth science if I plan to pass next time.

F*ck!!! Just f*ckity f*ck!!!

It's official. I am the proud owner of two denial letters for nursing school in the spring. Apparently there were over 900 applicants at one school alone. But, the good news is that I can reapply for the fall semester. Yay! *said with extreme sarcasm* At this rate, I will be lucky to get into nursing school before I need a nursing home. Okay, that's my update...I'm heading off to cry now.

LA Happenings...
on November 7, 2008 7:41 pm
So, we went to the OH LA Event...it was fun. That's all I can really say. So much happened and was packed in from Friday to Sunday...it would take forever to type it all out.
But, some of the highlights were:

Long, tedious drive to LA
Seeing a car accident, complete with a dead guy, upon arriving in LA
Costume Party
Getting turned away at the Edison
Going to a punk club
Eating good food
Seeing interesting presentations
Seeing awful presentations
Drinking too much and yet not enough
Late night Denny's run
Plastics consult w/ Dr. Quiroz of CosMed Mexico
Missing Melting Mama and Eggface's presentation :o( because of consult
Saying good bye to newly made friends
Long, tedious drive home

Here's a link to a slide show of the pics that I did manage to take. I kept forgetting that I had my camera, so I missed out on capturing so much!
