ok, not a productive month in the weight loss catagory...I'm standing strong at 190lbs...size 14-16...feeling good...looking better :) and trying to keep this thing updated...my personal life has been such a mess since November that it's a wonder I've lost any weight...but still the scales are moving down...so I'm not complaining...I mean I started this journey with the number 3 in front of my weight, and now there's a 1 there....so who's complaining???? NOT ME! :)

besides that not much shakin...hope everyone here is doing well and I'll update again SOON!

Here I am 196 and a size 16 comfortably...it's amazing how far I've come in less than 6 months! I've lost 110 lbs...and I'm so excited about it. I've lost all that weight and a husband in this process, and I've gained more than I could have ever imagined I would....a new love, and a new lease on life!!! How wonderful its that? :) I have added a new pic as my avatar and you can see the huge change if you go back and look at my pics...

Just updating my profile as I said I would keep this up...life is moving quickly, but I'm trying to keep up.

5 month Surgeryversary...

I'm 214lbs now, and still moving forward...I'm very happy with my progress...I have not posted in awhile because a lot has been going on in my personal life. On Nov. 21st my husband of 16 1/2 yrs and I seperated and I am filing for divorce on Friday this week. 

I have never been happier though...no longer do I have to wonder what I'm coming home to....I have already met a man....I know it's soon, but I'm so in love with this man...I was not looking, I was not trying, it just happened...he kind of fell into my lap, and I am so happy I can barely stand it!!! 

I'm hoping to make it to the clothing exchange on Saturday and I'm bringing him with me if I do. I miss posting on the board and I'm going to get back to doing it ASAP...also hope to have some new pictures up pretty soon!

Ok, that's about it....for now...I'll be back to post more soon!

yesterday was my three month post op visit (though actually I won't be 3 months out til Nov. 2nd)...

I'm feeling so good, the scales say 240 now :) size 20 slacks are fitting nicely and I'm beginning to really be able to tell a difference in myself...I'm so pumped about being under 250 again....now just looking for ONEderland! :)

well just keeping this updated like I promised to do...

today I weigh 248...I haven't been in the 240's in YEARS....my size 22 pants are beginning to be MORE THAN comfortable and I'd say another 10 lbs and I'll be in those size 20's...

I'm feeling good...looking GREAT and loving life! I can't believe how the weight is steadily falling off...of course it's never fast enough to satisfy, but I am losing quickly, but not TOO quickly...so i'm not getting a bunch of questions yet, which is nice...sure some people have noticed, but it's not DRASTIC yet so they aren't freaking out...i'd say by xmas I'll be remarkably different looking...i guess we'll see!

My Story

Hi everyone! My name is Jen, I'm 34 and soon to be divorced with three children. I was not an overweight child, or teen, but gained 75lbs or so with my first pregnancy and never took the weight off...over the years I've gained and lost and here I am today at 300lbs...I've been wanting to have WLS for several years, but we never had health insurance that covered it till now. As soon as we got this new insurance I began looking into it. I have had my first consult with Dr. Huse at St. Vincent's (in April) and had my Psych eval on May 1. I didn't have all the records together for Nicole to submit to my insurance until the 2nd week of June, but once I got them to her my insurance only took approx 12 days to approve me!  I was previously  hoping to have my surgery by my birthday (June 18th)...but that wasn't really a realistic goal...my acutal surgery date is August 2nd and as of today I only have 18 more days until me REBIRTHDAY!!! In my skinny days I was 135lbs give or take and I'm 5'6" tall...so I'd love to see at least 150...I'd be tickled to death with that! I'm looking forward to meeting new people and sharing my experience and journey with others. Thanks for reading this and I will update it as my journey continues!
