Praise God to an uneventful surgery!!
on October 10, 2008 6:42 pm
Today is October 10th, 2008
Well I had my surgery on Monday September 22nd.  My surgery took 1.5 hours.  It went without a hitch.  When I woke up in the recovery room I just remember being in a whole lot of pain with my back.  It felt like the surgery was actually done on my back!!  The nurses acted quick and got my pain under control and off to my room I went.  Once there I was okay. I was in the hosptial for 2 nights.
You know,  I have been learning and thinking a whole lot about "things".  I am at peace with myself right now. I am in no hurry to see numbers plummet, I just want to learn how to operate this new thing(stomach).  I want to do it right.  I want to be sure that I shall never have to go through something like this again.  I want to get and stay healthy and stop wasting time always worried about my health and weight. I want to enjoy my life and my family.  I want to be free!!!!

My Story

Well my first thought is how did I get here? Then I think maybe it doesn't matter....I'm here.

I am 28 years old. I am married to a wonderful guy who supports me in all I do. We are the blessed parents of a beautiful 7 year old son.
I have been struggling with my weight about half my life.(Although my weight didn't spiral out of control until about 6-7 years ago).I have fibromyalgia, which I was diagnosed with about 2 years ago. Because of my weight and the fibromyalgia I live in my own misery. What makes my days are my family. With out them I just don't know.
I began looking into WLS about 1 year ago and have been actively pursuing it these last 7 months. I had to take a 6 month course of 24 classes before I could have the surgery. During those 6 months I knew I did not want the RNY so I was basically hoping for the lap band. Well the day I met with my surgeon my mind was changed. We decided on the "sleeve". Since that day I have pretty much been on this site constantly. I am glad to be here and hear/listen to everyone's personal stories/struggles. They make me feel not so alone.
My big day is September 22nd. I can't wait....I will be updating my posts as I can.
May God Bless Us All!!!!   Warm Wishes To All!!!         Jessica
