Surgeon Testimonial Earl Noyan, MD My first impression of Dr. Noyan is that he is very helpful and caring. He considers his patients to be top priority. My impression didn't change over time because he has been great since the first visit. Dr. Noyan introduces the support group to patients upon their first visit to let them gain more insight into the Bariatric procedures and what is the best option for you. I highly recommend Dr. Noyan and his staff for the wonderful support that they've given me. Latest Surgery Support Comments No comments posted yet. Please post yours. "This is my life. It's not what it was before. All these feelings I've shared, And these are my dreams. That I'd never lived before. Somebody shake me 'cause I, I must be sleeping" ~Staind
My Story Hi! My name is Eleni and I'm from South Jersey. I am engaged to a wonderful, supportive guy named Jason. We're getting married 10/31/09 in a Halloween ceremony. And I hope to be a thin bride:) I've been on the WLS journey since February 18th, 2008. I went to a surgeon and gathered some information at a session he was having regarding the different types of WLS. I received a paper from the lady who worked there who told me there was a $1600 program fee due before the date of surgery. I figured I'd bite the bullet and pay it. So I came in for my next scheduled visit/meeting and realizing how much money it was, and how the surgeon himself did not offer any support group meetings, I opted to find another surgeon. I found Dr. Noyan through this fabulous site! My first visit with Dr. Noyan was on March 13th, 2008. He has been so helpful throughout these past few months. I did my visits to the Psych, two visits to the Pulmonologist (who also requested a sleep study- later found out I have Moderate Sleep Apnea!), three nutritionist visits, three support group meetings (which obviously I am going to continue attending post-op), and four visits to my surgeon. Not to mention creating a food journal for three months and submitting it to my nutritionist. It was a lot of work, but I know it will be well worth it in the end. I know the insurance companies can be a pain but I did everything required, all the while maintaining my weight. I had Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery on Wednesday June 25, 2008 around 11 am. I was in surgery for about 2-2 1/2 hours and my recovery was very rough. I came home on Saturday June 28, 2008 at 1 pm and I was basically weak and very exhausted for about a week. This is not the norm for most RNY patients. Every situation is different for each person of course. In the weeks following surgery you can see my updates in my blog. Please read it if you'd like! I hope to find out more about all of you! It's great to be able to come to OH and relate to people who are going through the exact same things. Good luck to everyone!
