Hi, My name is Christy, and this is my story of the bariatric surgery journey. It's always helpful to have encouragement, and I have spend a great deal of time reading the messageboards at Obesity Help.com. All of those wonderful people have inspired me to share my story, too.
Bad Non Blogger 3 days ago
So, I have been a very bad nonblogger lately. I decided to lower my monthly payments and get rid of my internet at home since I have a laptop. Then my wireless access at work decided to give me a hard time. It is up and running and so am I.
I have dropped 73 pounds since September, and am currently in my stall YUCK. I haven't lost or gained but a couple of the same 10ths of a pound for at least 2 weeks.
I did realize something strange with me when I weigh in. Have any of you found yourself making deals with yourself just before getting the dreaded weight. For a very long time I would always say as long as it doesn't say 2**, and I have been in the 100's for awhile now. It just shows how powerful that higher number is with your emotional side.
My friend Jen has agreed to be my Jillian in the new year (for you Biggest Loser fanatics out there). I managed to find a highly recommended video by Jillian to use, my friend Richenda highly recommends this. I haven't started yet, but a getting the basement TV ready to use, for my Mom time. I thought that I could use the video a couple of days a week, and go to Jen's a couple of days a week, so I can very my workout routine. I have to say that I really want to gear up so I can start running a couple of days a week. I can't believe that I am saying that I want to run, because I have never been a big runner before. Maybe this surgery has done more that give me the power to lose weight, but also given me the power to want to challenge myself and do new things. What an incredible gift this was!!!

AJ DID GREAT!! on December 1, 2008 9:41 am
He was flirting so much with all of the nurses and doctors, he was not afraid in the slightest bit, He walked right into the OR with the nurse and anesthesiologist. He has his day roughly every other day since surgery, with healing, he will feel great, then the next day he is so worn out. He even had done great with wearing the ear plugs in the bath tub, he doesn't like them, but the desire to play in the water is just too much to resist.

My Story
I've always considered myself a bigger girl. I was raised in a rural community, in the country, raising pigs for 4-H. I grew up much more a tomboy than a girlie girl, and in some ways I still am. I was the girl in school that was everyone's friend, but no one's girl friend. I always thought it was because I was fat. Looking back now at photographs of me, I would do anything to be that size again, and I am. I think that the weight started to come on the most, when I left for college. I had a boyfriend back at home (now my husband), and I was never a person to do any hard college partying. So sedentary life set in, and I started to gain weight. Well life continues, college is over, work begins, and several unsuccessful attempts at weight loss ends with not loss but usual frustrations and eating normally again and gains. There are lots of times that I berate myself and the weight gain for being a failure at having children, but that mostly went away after my Husband and I decided to be parents, and adopted our son in July of 2006. He is the reason, I want to get in better health. He is our joy (and our exhaustion), and I want to be able to do all kinds of fun things with him as he grows up. I truly am a leaner more active person in this big heavy suit. Everyone says to put a goal on the refrigerator, and I did last week. My friend went on vacation to Mexico last year. She took tons of pictures of them doing the zip line tour. THAT IS MY GOAL!! I want to go to mexico with my family and do the zip line tour. So here's to zippin' my way to a healther me.
