Surgeon Testimonial

Christine Chu, M.D.
Dr. Chu was fantastic when I was going through the program, but when it came down to the last few stages and the surgery I felt like cattle she just wanted to get done with. Even while in the hospital I had some concerns that she did not achknowledge. She just was very condescending. Before the surgery I would have reccomended her 100%, she was fantastic.

So!! This is me.  Came to this site to try and find some relief from the awful side effects, and found a lot of great information. As I pass each stage I hope I can start being of some service to others! I am starting to see clothes fitting different and people's attitude towards me change. People who have known me for years but haven't seen me since the surgery aren't even recognizing me! Now that is a trip.

My Story

Oh where do I begin!!  I started my weight loss journey in 1971 when I was born.. No just kidding but just about. I have the same story as many others. Overweight my whole life and battling it. I can remember being 9 and getting up at 5 am so I could run 5 miles before shool. With a nurse/health food freak for a Mom and a naturally skinny father, my weight was a FAMILY issue. But Mom and her whole side of the family are extremely overweight. I have tried every diet in the book, from cabbage soup, to the hot dog diet, to Jenny Craig (which worked but I'm not a millionaire!)  I started my WLS journey about 2002. I started to go through the Kaiser program in S San Francisco, and was denied because I didn't have any co-morbidities. Fast forward 5 years later and with the developement of knee surgery and high blood pressure controlled by medication, I was approved. I have been as high as 300 pounds, but started this portion of my weight loss journey at 240. I think I am finally begining to see the light at the END of my weight loss journey or at least the light to the maintenance portion of my weight loss journey!!
