Surgeon Testimonial Edmund Chute, M.D. Edmund Chute MD, Surgeon Dr. Chute had surgical training at the University of Minnesota and was on the Bariatric Service there in 1982. He went on to complete a fellowship in Vascular Surgery, and has been a part of this surgical group since 1990. He has been performing laparoscopic gastric bypass since 2002, and now specializes in weight loss surgery. He has a special interest in laparoscopic treatment of obesity. When I first met Dr. Chute, he was very attentive and informative with me about the surgery and the process. He explained that he was here to help me and that he supported my decision regardless of what he may have been. The staff at his facility are very friendly and they treat you as if they have known you for years. They really seem to care about their patients and they are always available to answer and questions and or concerns that I may have. My surgeon is very concerned with his patient's aftercare and long term process and they believe in going strictly by the book in order to get the best results. They want you to come to all of your follow-up appointments and stated that they will even call you and follow up if you miss an appointment. He addressed the risks of the surgery and explained the things that can be done to make the risks even less. I believe based on all the research and information that I have obtained that I am in the best hands and that I will be a success story. Surgical competence and bedside manner are both great and equally important because making this decision and going through the entire commitment and process isn't something that is taken light heartedly. My Story My name is Shae and I am a 31 year old married woman with two beautiful children. I have struggled with my weight for the last ten years and honestly felt that there wasn't anyone in the world that understood my pain and misery. Some people try to understand but others thought that it was just a matter of backing away from the table and exercising. I have tried many exercise and diet programs and none of them brought anything long lasting. My cousin and my kids godmother both have had the gastric bypass surgery and they are doing very well so I decided that it is my turn. The Lord has brought me a long way because not only did I have to pray, cry, scream and fuss over my weight gain and the decision to have the surgery, but I also had to start loving me again and get my mind right. Now I am so excited to begin my new life after surgery and everyday until the big day is just a giant step closer to a new and improved me. I feel like I am being born again and I plan on taking full advantage of my new chance and experience. My family and friends are all being very supportive of my surgery and I can't wait to meet as many people on this site that I can and give them the support that they need. ![]() ![]() Glitterfy.com - Glitter Graphics ![]() Glitterfy.com - Glitter Graphics ![]() Glitterfy.com - Glitter Graphics ![]() Glitterfy.com - Glitter Graphics Congrats to all that have gotten their approval, their surgery date, are getting ready to have surgery, have had surgery or has started to lose their weight.
