Monday is your day!
Just remember you
are on the journey
of a lifetime. Try
to enjoy every
minute. It may sound
weird now, but know
that you are cared
for and prayed for
here, and all too
soon this will be
but a memory and you
will be an
inspiration to
someone else. I am
waiting for you on
the losers' bench! ~

Well, I've just found this site and I'm tentatively scheduled for surgery on March 19, but it is looking like the 26th is going to have to do due to my husbands work schedule. I think he has a training on the 19th to go to and I don't want to do this alone. And yes we are alone. His family disapproves of this surgery and thinks it is craze to want to have it done. My sister in law's sister had the surgery and ever since all I have heard is how they would never allow thier family member to have such radical surgery. So we have decided not tro even tell them we are doing it. Next year when they see me they will know something has changed!!!

Hello, lje3858 its your friend Yorkielover! I didn't realize that you were getting ready for surgery. I thought you had to do the
supervised weight loss program for Insurance approval. Isn't Aetna your Insurance? Anyways, don't worry about what other people think about the surgery. It's your body, your health and your life! They will just have to get over it. And they will!!! My friends have made smart comments about me wanting the surgery..like it's dangerous, expensive, you can lose weight on your own...etc. I just ignore it and change the subject. I have all the problems that people who are obese have and I want to live a lot longer. Plus I am miserable, my self-esteem is low and I want to feel good about myself again. You don't owe anyone an explanation. Now, you feel good about your decision and go for it!!!!! Just pray for peace with your decision and you will be fine. God will take care of you, trust me! I assume that is your Shitzu in your photo box? Soooo cute!! looks like a sweetheart. Is it a girl or boy? Name? I will have to get some pictures of my babies up. Well, good luck and keep in touch. Mary
Hi Mary, I have been going through all the pretesting and clearances for months. I have federal blue cross and blue shield insurance. it will pay for 90 percent of the cost. I have been dieting and was required to lose 15 pounds before surgey. As of Monday I have lost 27.5 lbs. I am waiting to hear if I can have my surgery on the 26th. That day is full but the nurse was going to see if a women wanted to switch surgery dates with me. If not it will have to be April 9th, since the doc will be out of town on April 2nd. I am hoping it will be March 26, I don't do well with waiting...Winston is my "Baby" he will be six years old on Thurday. We went to a breader to get him and learned his birthday was the same as mine, so I knew it was fate that he was to be mine! As for my self esteem it is great, I love me and have always excepted the way I was, I have a very loving supportive husband and am so loved. The problems started when I developed diabetes about 15 years ago and then 6 yrs ago I developed severe rheumatoid arthritis two years ago the doctor felt I needed an electric wheelchair to help me be more mobile. I have some really good days and some really horrible days, so we decided as a team that it would help both problems if I get the weight loss surgery. I just read a article sent to me asking if I had an angel yet how do I get an angel? Thanks for answering me, I've tried to add a number of people to my list but you are the only one who has responded to me. Hope to hear from you again soon. Lisa
Hi Lisa, Good luck on your upcoming surgery, and congrats on choosing to save your life.
Family can be a royal pain at times when they don't understand or choose not to in cases like yours. You deserve this and I would be honored to be your friend. Love and prayers.
