My Story Well i thought i would share my story a little/ provide some background info on me! Well i guess ive been overweight most of my life started when i was a teenager and well went up from there. I was banded in December 2004 at 23 years when i had finally had enough and heard of this fantastic surgery called the Lap Band i went and saw the surgeon and my mum paid the $3000 out of pocket for me to have the procedure, i rcovered well and was up and around in no time. I lost for a little while plateued and lost, i had fills some unfills and then fills and all i managed to loose (and at least maintain) was 20Kg! It realy broke my heart when we saw a family friend who had it and lost all her weight in no time and had no trouble eating etc. Oh in 2006 i had my gallbladder out as i had gallstones! The end of last year i started researching my options and saw my band doctor and said to her i need something more, she is all for the band and well this was not working so she reffered me to A/Prof Simon Woods. I saw him on the 8th Jan, he explained my options, and understood how i was not happy, asked me what i wanted to do and exlained the options, he said to go home and think about it, and after some thought (all though i already knew what i wanted to do) i rang his PA and booked the surgery for 6 March this year. Im gong back in 2 weeks as i have a long list of questions i need the anwers for. The trouble with being in the medical field (well in my case a Microbiologist) you just know to much sometimes!!! Well thats about it for now, iv'e also managed to gain 2Kg over the last months :( but my DS will help me i cant waite to be thin and happy and wear anthing and everything i want! I know it sounds vein but im only 25 and well ive missed out on most of my life and being able to look and wear what ever i wanted!!!
