First impression: to the point and straightforward    Posted on 04/13/2009

My first impression of Dr. Boone was that he really cares about his patients. My impression has not changed over time. His office staff are very friendly and helpful. There's nothing I did not like about Dr. Boone. At every appointment he stresses that good nutrition is key in this process. Yes, follow-up is pretty consistent and instructions are given at each appointment. He told me from the very first time I went into his office that this surgery was not intended to be a 'quick fix' but a tool to help make that life change. I would rate Dr. Boone a 10+. I believe Dr. Boone is very competent in his field of expertice and his bedside manner is also very kind. Dr. Boone has shown that he really does care about his patient.    Posted on 10/23/2008

I first met Dr. Boone at a Baratric surgery seminar in Fresno, CA in May 2008. I listened to him attentively as his personality, education and personal life unfolded. He shared so many things concerning Bariactric surgery from the good things that happen to the the possible risks. He stressed the importance of aftercare and how he just wasn't a doctor to perform your surgery and send you on your way but that he cared and wanted to continue follow-up appointments throughout the rest of our lives. He answered all my questions and concerns. His wit was also admirable as he talked about the heavy set nanny he had hired to take care of his children. After he performed surgery on her, she lost weight, quit her job and got married. He joked about not ever doing surgery on his nannies ever... [Click here for more]

NEW HOPE! I went back to Dr. Boone in Fresno since he is approved through my insurance and works at Fresno's Heart Hospital and I am happy to say after much work , pre-operative weightloss and more work , I am scheduled for surgery 4/17/08! Thank you for all of your support! Much love for Dr Boone and his office staff! Thank you to Brenda , she worked really hard to get my insurance stuff all straight! They are very informative and patient in the office. Nothing but good to say about my experience so far! Dr's Boone and Higa are outstanding surgeons! They follow me closely and even hospitalized me when they felt something was wrong with my Gall bladder. If you have any questions about my experience with ALSA please send me a private message!    Posted on 08/07/2008

I met with my surgeon and I am so excited that I picked him. He made me feel comfortable right away. He took time to explain things and answer questions. The entire visit, including wait time, took less than an hour. It was great. During my consultation, we discoved that we went to the same high school and he has family near my home. I am feeling so positive about my journey, now.    Posted on 04/16/2008

My first impression of Dr. Boone was positive. He answered all my questions, took time and explained things. Office staff was not so great just OK. The girl the you see at the end is not too friendly. I did see Dr. Boone prior to surgery but not at all after. That was kinda of a bummer. I did see his partner Dr. Higa. He is full of personality:)    Posted on 03/27/2008

* Extremely well versed in the subject. * Office staff is efficient and friendly even though they are very busy. * Surgery went well. Actually taken in early to the O.R. * Out of the hospital in 24 hours. * Completely uneventful recovery * Just went for my one year follow-up. Everything is good. I'm down 89 pounds. * My cholesterol went from 220 down to 132 ~ amazing! * Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you to Dr. Boone for changing my life. * I now feel like the outside me, matches the inside me:)    Posted on 03/16/2008

Boone was at the seminar I attended so I picked him. I really got a lot out of that seminar compared to another I had been to. Then I met Boone at my consultation yesterday and I am just so happy with my decision. He's very kind and easy to talk to. He wanted to hear my questions and made sure I understood everything. He's a family man that seems to have both surgical competence and great bedside manner.    Posted on 03/12/2008

Has been very nice and professional with both DH & I. 3 RNs in my family recommended him as the number 1 pick - The hospital staff also seemed to have a lot of respect for him. Don't expect a lot of conversation, but if you read the info that his and Dr. Higa's office provides they answer ALL questions with info. specific to their practice & procedures. VERY impressed with the office - apparently they have improved A LOT over the years because they have been prompt at returning our calls & providing information. 4 days after surgery & I feel only slightly bruised. Never any sharp or worrisome pain. When my DH goes in for surgery (3wks after mine) I am going to make sure we are clear on Dr. Boone's instructions to the hospital nursing staff so he does not have the same issues I did...
