It has been 11 months since my surgery and I now have a hernia, which is good and bad I suppose. I dread the idea of another surgery, but at the same time, I would love to get the tummy tuck as well. I amd down to 213lbs as of 4-4-02, and I have lost 61 inches. My surgeon was Dr Steven Poplawski at BTC in Ypsilanti, Mi. He has since moved to Holland, Mi to open up a new BTC. I was quite disappointed in losing him, because he was a great man that I loved dearly. My sister also had a RNY with him in July of 2000. If he wasn't so far, I would drive the distance to see him. I have had a couple of scares since surgery, one being possibly having food stuck which ended up just clearing on its own, and another just last week was a pain running from the top of my scar to my belly button, which they think may have been hernia related of because of "over-doing-it" while exercising. That one really scared me the most, it was very painful. I am trying to wait as long as possible to get the hernia fixed, for the TT, but I may have to put that off and just get the hernia fixed at this point. I wanted to lose another 40-50lbs before that, but it may not happen. That is my update :-)
