Four weeks out

Jun 05, 2010

I have made it four weeks now. It has been different than I imagined and probably not the "norm" or average I'm betting.  I went to my Dr on Tuesday, June 1. He was out of the country so I saw his PA. I really wasn't comfortable after the visit because I was not able to convey the fact that I am in a lot of pain due to the tube I still have in me. It feels like mini labor pains and acts the same way. It comes and goes and is very intense. If any newbie reads this, do not be alarmed because we are all different. I just need to show the downside because it is also a part of my "journey". I have two pieces of skin that is coming up out of the hole in my stomach. Sandy said it was "fat" but I cant accept that because it seems to me it is skin or part of my stomach.  When the pain hits me, it hurts in the center of my chest, but seems to run the length from underneath one breast to the other and it hurts enough that I have to moan out load and sometimes bang my fist on the desk or whatever is close by. It subsides in a few minutes. This happens off and on all day and wakes me at night. My energy level is very low and I am sleepy throughout the day quite often. Sometimes while driving I have to fight real hard to stay awake.

Having said that I will say that 30 pounds are gone since I started my pre op diet. I can eat about 1/3 c. of my foods. I am slow to venture out and try too many new things, but there again, I am afraid of kicking off this pain in my chest.

I go back to see Dr J on the 16th and I hope this tube can/will be removed.

Time to tattle on myself here. I have not been getting in enough water and I have not been journalling, so I could be sabotaging myself. Today I am going to make sure I follow the plan 100%. Well that is the plan anyway. I have to stop now. The pain just came on (like a labor pain). Ouch!
