Hi everyone.  I had my RNY last May 7th, 2012.   It is the greatest decision I have ever made.  So far I have lost 94 pounds and couldn't be more pleased.  The journey for me is going to start when maintenance begins.  I am not saying this is easy, but I truly believe the real journey starts way down the road.

Because of the damage I did to my hips from being super morbidly obese I now need to have hip replacement surgery as soon as I am done with losing some more weight.  I would like to lose 35 to 50 more pounds.  I also have an auto immune disease called Polymyalgia Rheumatica which causes crippling muscle pain and that in itself has me on on meds 24/7.  I use a walker and between the weight and this has pretty much been the factor of why I had WLS.  My hips are bone on bone, so the weightloss had very little effect to being in less pain.  once the damage is done, no amount of weightloss is going to take all the pain away.  But it has helped my over all health and do not need to be on any diabetic meds and have normal blood pressure.  This does not cure diabetes as there is no cure so people need to know this prior to surgery.

Research as much as you can on all WLS.  The decision is in your hands and remember you only want to be cut once.

Take Care!    Jane
